Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. By signing up, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@finkfinancial.io if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may share access to a single household with additional members you invite. Each invited member must have their own email address and accept these Terms independently. You are responsible for the actions of anyone you invite to your household.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities except through a coordinated disclosure process
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or defraud others
• Connect bank accounts you are not authorized to access, or enter financial data belonging to someone who has not consented
• Interfere with or overload our systems, or attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or billing gates
• Resell or white-label the Service without a separate written agreement

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

Free plan

We offer a free plan that does not expire. It includes manual transaction entry, CSV import, budgeting, the review queue, and household sharing. Bank sync via Plaid is not included on the free plan.

Paid plans

Paid subscriptions (“Pro”) add bank sync via Plaid and smart auto-categorization. Current pricing is available on our pricing page. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated and are subject to change with notice.

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on each renewal
• Monthly plans renew monthly; annual plans renew every 12 months. Renewal is automatic unless you cancel
• You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — your Pro features remain active until then

Trials

Our 14-day Pro trial does not require a credit card. If you do not subscribe, the account returns to the Free plan when the trial ends and you are not charged. If you choose a paid subscription during the trial, Stripe will show the first charge date before you confirm; that subscription then renews automatically until you cancel.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused time after renewal. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at contact@finkfinancial.io within 14 days and we will review in good faith.

Taxes

Applicable sales taxes (HST/GST/provincial) are added at checkout where required. You are responsible for any taxes not collected by us.

When you connect a bank account, you authorize Plaid to access your account on your behalf and deliver transaction and balance data to Fink Financial. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's own terms and privacy policy:

You can disconnect a bank at any time from Settings. Once disconnected, we revoke the access token with Plaid and stop receiving new transactions for that institution. Historical transactions you have already imported remain in your account unless you delete them.

We rely on data provided by Plaid and your financial institution. We do not guarantee that this data is complete, accurate, or up to date. You should continue to verify balances and transactions with your bank of record.

You own your data. You grant us a limited licence to process and display your data solely to operate the Service on your behalf. We will never sell your data or use it to build advertising profiles. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You can export your transaction history as CSV from within the app at any time.

Fink Financial is a tool to help you track and budget your money. It is not a financial advisor, accountant, or tax professional. Nothing in the Service — including automated categorizations, debt payoff projections, or cash-flow summaries — constitutes financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice. You should consult a qualified professional for decisions that rely on those fields.

We aim to keep the Service running continuously but we do not guarantee uptime. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, failures of upstream providers (Plaid, Stripe, Neon, Vercel), force majeure, or other causes. Transaction sync depends on data being published by your bank and forwarded by Plaid; we cannot guarantee how quickly a transaction appears after it posts at your bank.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate for our convenience (not for cause), we will refund any unused prepaid fees on a pro-rata basis.

Upon termination, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, subject to the retention exceptions in our Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any data displayed is accurate or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fink Financial and 14109015 Canada Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fink Financial and 14109015 Canada Limited from any third-party claim arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit that infringes the rights of others.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in London, Ontario, Canada have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, unless applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction grants you different rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
